The time taken depends of course on the size of the portrait, but generally speaking, each portrait will take roughly one week, from the first charcoal line to the last brush stroke. From there, the painting will take up to a week to dry enough to be shipped. otherwise known as being “touch dry”. The portrait will then be shipped as soon as it is dry!

What makes a great photo, doesn’t always make a great reference photo! The best photos to paint from have strong shadows, from your own pets eye level, so that they aren’t looking straight up at you. Try to have them sit still a few feet away as well, so you can have their whole body in the frame! You can always send several photos to make sure that you send over the best possible photo!

Of course! During the painting process you will receive updates at several key points. This allows you to give feedback for possible revisions and changes, to guarantee that your pet portrait painting will exceed your expectations!

The paintings are painted onto canvas panels, so are very thing, and not backed by typical canvas stretcher bars, so they can fit comfortably into a typical photograph frame (with the glass cover removed). This means you can easily frame the painting from a frame from any store!
